This site aims to provide the most comprehensive listing of Black-majority, Black-led and Asian churches in the UK. These churches are among the fastest growing Christian organisations in this country today.
Since the late 1940s, Black Christianity has been a dynamic spiritual, social and political force in Britain with a presence in many areas of society. Migrant communities were plagued by racism both by church and wider society. And whilst racism continues, Black Christians are today present in the historic, established and new churches in the United Kingdom, and many with international connections.
It is estimated that there are more than 500,000 Black Christians in over 4,000 local congregations in the United Kingdom, the majority of whom are in England, and the majority of them in London.
